Year 2 enjoyed the day in the Glasshouse Mountains as they visited the 1868 Bankfoot House. The students were shown various chores and challenges that Clementina the youngest daughter of the Grigor family faced daily. They were shown how to churn butter, how to do the hand washing and games and crafts that Clementina would have enjoyed to stay entertained. The highlight was walking through the old house and being taken back in time and realising how lucky and how far we have come with technology. Which is exactly what the students have been learning in HASS.
The students have been identifying and comparing old and new things and how technology has made life a lot easier. This was the perfect excursion to be shown hands on evidence of this.
