Parent involvement in the education of our students is strongly encouraged, and parental representation is valued.
There is an opportunity for everyone to become involved in education at this school.
Communication with parents occurs frequently through regular newsletters, parent sessions, formal reporting, parent-teacher interviews, school activities and the Parents and Citizens' Association.
A warm invitation is extended to parents to participate in the activities of the school.
The school takes an interest in and cares about parents and children at Caloundra Primary.
Meetings are held on the third Monday of each month in the administration building, commencing at 6.00 pm.
P&C
Update May 15th
The
P&C continues to operate for the school community albeit in a modified way
given the immense challenges posed by COVID-19.
The
P&C Executive and School Principal recently met on April 27th via
teleconference. A range of topics were discussed including information and
feedback on the implementation of current school work for the majority of
families at home, and the future operations of the Cal Cafe.
Given
the student free week at the end of Term 1 and uncertainty about school
attendance for Term 2 at that time, a decision was taken to temporarily close
the school canteen.
The
P&C though through substantial hard work from its volunteers and some
Federal Government Coronavirus Assistance for small businesses, decided at its
Executive Meeting to reopen the Cal Cafe from Wednesday to Fridayfor First Break.
Further
decisions on operating hours and other matters relating to Cal Cafe will be
communicated to parents.
The
P&C will look to have a further meeting shortly and the details will be
communicated to families regarding how it will operate.
For
now, if any parent wants to raise suggestions, issues or ideas, please contact
us here at pandccaloundrass@gmail.com
Thanks
to all parents for their support of the P&C.
Without
doubt this is an unprecedented year with limits of our capacity to do things -
to fundraise, hold community gatherings and conduct other normal businesses
activities.
Rest
assured we are working hard in the background as a parent body to do what we
can for our community.
We
look forward to providing further updates and working in partnership with
families and the school for the remainder of 2020.
