Caloundra State School is proud to be the first state school established in Caloundra, with a rich history and a strong, enduring connection to our local community. We are deeply committed to educating the whole child and to ensuring every student is supported, challenged, and extended. Our extensive range of academic extension programs and clubs provides students with opportunities to pursue their interests and talents. These include Robotics, Writers' Club, Maths Extension, and Japanese Club, all designed to foster curiosity, creativity, and higher-order thinking.
Sporting excellence and participation are also key strengths of our school. Students can engage in squads and clubs such as Swimming, Athletics, Surf Skills, Cross Country, Rugby League, and our unique Cal 100km Running Club, promoting teamwork, resilience, and lifelong wellbeing.
The arts are a vibrant and valued part of school life at Caloundra State School. Our dance extension programs — CalMins, CalStars, and CalSquad — provide structured pathways for students to develop skill and confidence, complemented by opportunities in our Concert Band and Strings Ensemble.
These opportunities are supported by outstanding facilities, including a purpose-built dance studio, well-equipped computer labs, and a state-of-the-art Resource Centre that supports research, collaboration, and a love of reading and learning.
None of this would be possible without our exceptional staff. Our dedicated teachers, support and specialist staff, cleaners, grounds staff, P&C, café staff, and crossing supervisors work together to create a safe, caring, and high-quality learning environment. We also value our strong partnerships with community organisations such as The Smith Family and our Chaplaincy service, which enhance the care and support available to our students and families.
