Last Wednesday 26th May, CSS launched a new reading programme in association with Quota and the community police. QuoCKa reading (Quota, cops, kids) will involve year 2 students. Volunteers from Quota, the police and sponsors Bendigo Bank, will read with the students on Fridays in the library. Each student will receive a book to keep and a book with their name on donated to the school library. The aims of the programme include improvement to reading levels and engagement and strengthened community relationships.
The launch was conducted by Karen Murphy, former International President of Quota and attended by Andrew Wallace (Federal member for Fisher), Mark McArdle (Member for Caloundra) along with mascots, members of Quota, parents, staff and students. Thanks to Mrs Crawford and Mrs Anderson who are organising the initial; we can't wait for it to start.
