Walk to School Day

Over 130 students and parents walked to school.
In 2013 Caloundra State school has been lucky enough to have adopt a cop Kelly join the ranks. Kelly O’Brien is her real name and recently she was officially adopted on a school parade. Kelly has been an adopt a cop before and when the opportunity came along to join the best school in Caloundra, she jumped at it. Kelly now gets to join her husband Craig at school. Craig is the man who somehow manages to find the time to keep the school looking beautiful, as he is the very talented groundsman at Caloundra State School.
Recently both Craig and Kelly organised the annual Walk to School Day for Caloundra State School. They were overwhelmed by the amount of students and parents who participated on the day. Over 130 school students and parents met at Stockland Shopping Centre and walked together all the way to school. Each student has received a certificate from Kelly in recognition of their efforts. Kelly said that she obviously joined the school that is a true community, judging on the culture of participation. Mr Logan the school principal said that he was not surprised with the turn out as he and Deputy Principal Mr Bopf recently had nearly 100 students march with them on ANZAC Day. Well done Kelly and welcome aboard!
