Ride to School Day

Ride to School Day at Caloundra State School
What a wonderful day for a ride around Caloundra! School adopt a Cop Kelly O’Brien has headed  up the team of students from Caloundra State School to support the national Ride to School day on Wednesday the 19th. Over 100 students met up at Caloundra police station to ride the two kilometres to school. There were scooters and bikes and some very unusual helmets with Mohawks on them, along with the cameras from channel nine to mark the occasion. Caloundra State School has 450 students and over 100 of them turned up for the morning ride. What an effort, considering some students live on the other side of where the school is situated. Abigail and Joseph Bopf came from their home at Currimundi, past school and down to the police station to join in the fun. Madison O’Brien who lives at Pelican Waters said, “I don’t mind travelling the extra distance to school when your school is as good as Caloundra State School.“ The school would like to thank the wonderful local police officers and parents who also joined in for the ride, making it a very safe trip indeed.
